A loan of $725 helped to buy bark and alcohol.

Rosa Elvira's story

Rosa is a member of “Las Fresitas del Distrito de Yarinacocha” Communal Bank in the department of Ucayali. She is 53 years old, married and has three children. She sells herbal remedies, medicinal bark, and macerations that she sells in the city of Lima. She usually takes orders, for now. She uses soda bottles for the containers. In the future she will buy jars to package it adequately. With her new loan of 2,000 new Peruvian soles, she will buy 25 liters of alcohol, 3 kilos of chuchuazi bark, 1 kilo of ginger, 5 kilos of cat’s claw, 1 kilo of Jergon Sacha, 2 kilos of Huito and 3 liters of honey. She undertakes this work with her husband. None of their children live with them, and they have to work in order to cover their basic expenses and food. “Thanks to Manuela Ramos for providing help to these women that really need it.”
