A loan of $3,175 helped a member to buy provisions for making breakfasts.

Karayba Group's story

The solidarity group was created on January 7, 1997. It is comprised of nine women who live in the same district. Their main work involves small-scale commerce.

Ms. Fatou, who appears at the right in the photo with her hand raised, is the group’s official. She is 49 years old, married, and the mother of one child. She is also responsible for two other children entrusted to her by her parents. Fatou is active in selling breakfasts. She has good experience in this business domain because she has worked at it for several years.

This loan will enable her to bolster her capital and to develop her business further. The profits will allow her to help cover the cost of schooling the children.
