Fuerza 2008 Group's story

The "Fuerza 2008" group consists of responsible and hard-working people who get together every 30 days at the offices of Kiva partner Asociación Arariwa in Cusco, Peru. At the latest meeting, we got to know María Belén, who tells us she was born and still lives in Cusco. She is 46 years old and is both mother and father to her two children. After taking care of her household responsibilities, María works as a secretary at a travel agency. She has made a living in this activity for the past 15 years, and it is going very well thanks to the effort she puts into her work. María also has a small pizzeria called "La Gran Pizza," where she has been working for nearly six months already. At this time, she is requesting a loan to purchase ingredients like ham and cheese. Her dream is to open a restaurant chain. *María is the woman raising her hand in the photo.
