A loan of $900 helped plant tomatoes during the second cycle of planting crops.

German's story

Germán lives in the city of Estelí, is currently single, 60 years old, has 2 children and dedicates himself to farming. He started in the business because it was a tradition, given that his parents were also farmers. He made a partnership with a friend who had more experience than him with planting, and he also didn’t have enough capital to work on his own.

He took his first loan in order to plant tomatoes and, thankfully, the yield was good and he sold his product even though the prices at the market were low. In fact, he was able to invest capital into one of his projects that he managed to make a reality, which was to open a general store that he currently has today. It is small, but is functioning very well.

He requests this loan to plant tomatoes for the second cycle of planting crops, which he will plant with his brother’s help. He hopes to have good earnings from this, in order to then improve his general store. He also wants to find technology to be more efficient, and improve the conditions of his home and farm. He wants to continue planting crops in the future.
