A loan of $1,000 helped to be able to sow 8,000 tomato plants during the second planting season.

Jarin Yariel's story

Jarin, 26 years old, is a farmer. He is originally from the area called Rodeo Localizada in Pueblo Nuevo, municipality of Esteli. He is single. He has been farming since he was very small. He says it is tradition; all of his ancestors farmed. In this new planting season, he will have the help of his brother, who is going to help him plant so that the crops can succeed.

Jarin is satisfied with his achievements, thanks to the first loan that he received. He used it to be successful in tomato planting. He was able to pay farmhands and purchase tomato seeds, manure, fertilizers, and insecticides to avoid plagues.

He is requesting this loan to maintain planting through the second growing season. He has 8,000 tomato plants that need to be planted within one month.

He hopes to produce a quality crop with a high yield so that he can sell at a good price that will bring in revenue. He wants to improve his sales, which will permit him to continue planting more.
