A loan of $1,100 helped to purchase parts for his minibus, pay for its repair service and purchase materials for house renovation.

Mamuka's story

Mamuka comes from the village of Ksovrisi, Mtskheta District. He is 40 years old, married and lives with his family: his wife Lali and two sons (17 and 13 years old), both of whom go to school.

Mamuka is requesting credit to repair his minibus, which is the source of income for the family. He uses it in summer and fall to transport villagers and their fruits/vegetables to the open market in Tbilisi (the capital city). The distance between Ksovrisi and Tbilisi is approximately 35km. Mamuka’s minibus is already old and he needs to change some parts in order for it to function safely and provide comfortable transportation for the villagers.

Mamuka also helps Lali in the family-owned dairy farm. They have four milk cows and sell approximately 100kg Georgian cheese in nearby villages.

A small part of the credit will be used for house renovation. After the renovation family members will have better living conditions and a better spirit for hard work.
