A loan of $1,000 helped to buy one bundle of second-hand shoes.

Fitina's story

Our customer Fitina is a 38 years old entrepreneur. She is married and a mother of nine children who all go to school. Her husband is a carpenter. She retails second-hand shoes at the Cadeco municipal market.

She has been in the business since she lived in the Bukavu region. In fact, it's been over 19 years that she's been in this business. In addition, she just went through three loan cycles with Hekima's graduated financial products.

This new loan should allow her to build up her stock with one bundle of second-hand shoes; the remainder of the money will be allocated to the family's small projects. In addition to this, she aims to keep her children in school and to build her house. The customer thanks Hekima for its actions in favor of poor women excluded from traditional banking. The customer is sitting very serenely in front of her habitation.
