A loan of $375 helped to buy fabric.

Galet Emerita's story

Galet is a member of the “Las Trabajadoras de Manantay” (The Workers from Manantay) Communal Bank in the Manantay District, Ucayali department. She is 27 years old, married, and has two children.

She has been working with the loans from Manuela Ramos for two years. She makes sheets, and her husband is an independent worker.

She will use the new loan for 1,000 soles to buy 12 meters of fabric, 20 meters of wide silk lace, and 10 meters of elastic.

She makes her sheets at home in the afternoon. This is because she does other things in the morning, in addition to taking care of her children and getting them off to school.

The current difficult situation in the country makes everyone work in order to be able to pay all of the basic household expenses. Thanks to Manuela Ramos she has been able to start a small business for her family’s well-being.
