The 10 members of the Jiguiseme 3 group are married men averaging 41 years of age, with five children, and living with their wives and children in Foh, a village about 35 km from the city of Sikasso (the third administrative region of Mali).

These farmers are on their 10th loan cycle with the Soro Yiriwaso microfinance institution, with the goal of meeting customer demand. All prior loans have been repaid satisfactorily.

This farmers’ group has been cultivating and selling corn for years. This is a profitable activity in the region. Klezanza, standing in the middle in the photo is the group’s leader. He plans to use his loan in the following way: to buy six bags of urea, four bags of complex fertilizer, five liters of herbicides and to use the rest to pay manual labor. He plans to achieve an average monthly income of 90,000, which will be used for everyday family expenses.

Les dix membres du groupe JIGUISEME 3 sont des hommes mariés ayant une moyenne d’âge de 41 ans, 5 enfants et vivant avec leurs femmes et leurs enfants à Foh, un village situé à environ 35 km de la ville de Sikasso 3ème région administrative du Mali.
Ces producteurs sont à leur deuxième cycle de prêt avec l’institution de micro finance Soro Yiriwaso afin de satisfaire le besoin de leur clientèle. Les prêts antérieurs ont été remboursés avec satisfaction.
Ce groupe de producteur fait la culture du maïs et sa vente depuis plusieurs années, fait l’objet d’une activité rentable dans la zone.
KLEZANGA, se tenant en position debout au milieu est le président de ce groupe, il compte utiliser de la façon suivante son prêt : achat de 6 sacs d’urée, 4 sacs de complexe céréale, 5 litres d’herbicides et le reste comme frais de labours. Il envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 90.000 FCFA qui sera utilisé pour les dépenses quotidiennes de la famille.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
