A loan of $725 helped to buy clothes.

Anatolia's story

Anatolia is a member of the Palmeras community bank. She is 53 years old, widowed, and has three children. Her business is selling clothes for adults. She will invest the loan that she is requesting in buying clothes to stock her business. Anatolia lost her husband during the period of terrorism and she had to work to get her three children ahead in life. They were very difficult times. She used to sell prickly pear and some other fruit. She got her capital together and started selling clothes as an itinerant street vendor. She then acquired a stall in the '12 de abril' market. Anatolia joined FINCA Peru through an invitation from an existing member. She likes it because of the ease of the loans. She learns from the training sessions where they discuss very interesting topics to do with family, marriage and business. Above all, they instill the importance of saving since this is often not possible at home. Anatolia's dream is to buy a plot of land and open a store.
