A loan of $350 helped to buy powdered milk.

Lala's story

Mrs. Lala is a 23 year old, married woman who lives with her 3 children and spouse in a monogamous family in Sanankoroba, a prefecture of Kati, the second largest administrative region in Mali.

Very early on, Lala became interested in income-generating businesses, notably the purchase and sale of diary products: powdered milk, fresh milk, milk curd, cream, yogurt, etc.

While looking for additional funding, she decided to sign-up for the Soro Yiriwaso loan program. She is on her first loan.

She stocks up twice a month in Bamako and plans to buy with this loan, five sacks of powdered milk which she will sell retail, from place to place, for cash, to male and female customers. She hopes to achieve a monthly profit of 60,000 FCFA which will be used to cover her expenses and to make loan payments.
