A loan of $725 helped to buy supplies for his farming and livestock business.

Javier's story

Javier, 33, and his wife and children live in a house they own in Tambogrande-Piura. The house lacks basic services: water, electricity, sewage. The local people make their living farming, raising livestock and making and selling handicrafts.

Javier operates a business, raising and selling sheep and poultry. He has a neat, spacious yard for the business behind his house. He feeds the sheep and poultry a balanced diet so that they he can get the best price for them when they're ready for market. The income from the business goes to supporting his family, as does the income from a small farm that he inherited from his father. He sells the lemons that he grows on the farm at local markets.

Javier is applying to Edpyme Alternativa for a 2000 new soles loan that he will use to buy the supplies he needs--animal feed and fertilizer--for the business. The extra income will allow him to repay the loan and better provide for his family.

Javier is a responsible, hard-working man whose only wish is to grow his business so that he can improve the lives of his family.
