Etienne is a small-scale merchant who was born in Rwanda and she is a member of the solidarity group DUTERANINKUNGA. He is married, 33 years old, and has five children between the ages of eight and 16. All go to school and he is not responsible for anyone else. He spent four years in secondary school. This is his first loan through ACB. He is going to use her loan to buy children's clothing to grow her business at the local market.

There is no expectation that he might not reimburse her loan. His strategy for growing his business is to work every day selling clothing, and increase his working hours to work from 8am to 10pm. His dream is to buy a motorcycle to help her with his business. For his family, he plans to pay the semester fees for his children.

Etienne est commerçant naquit au Rwanda, et il est membre du groupe solidaire DUTERANINKUNGA. Il est mariée, il a 33 ans, il a cinq enfants entre 8 ans et 16 ans tous vont à l’école, et il n’a aucune personne en charge, il a 4 ans des études secondaires. C'est son premier cycle de prêt avec ACB. Claudine va utiliser son crédit pour acheter les habits des enfants qu'elle vende pour accroitre son business dans le marché locale. Il n’a aucune difficulté attendue de non-remboursement de son prêt. Sa stratégie pour la croissance de son business est d'augmenter les heures de travail, de huit à dix heures. Sa vision, il voudrait acheter une moto qui va servir de déplacement pour atteindre son objectif ainsi que sa vision. Pour sa famille il va payer le minerval pour ses enfants.

Amasezerano Community Banking, S.A., is a for-profit microfinance institution founded in 2005 by the Rwandan NGO African Evangelist Enterprises-Rwanda and 61 individual shareholders, and has been a Kiva partner since June 2010. This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
