A loan of $550 helped to buy products, soda and beer.

Irma's story

Irma, 43, lives with her husband and three children in a relative's house. She recognized a great business opportunity in her hometown and, 11 years ago, set up a store in her house. Every morning, sometimes with her mother's help, she attends to customers. She has another temporary job, but her main activity is managing and stocking the store. Therefore she wants to have enough capital to develop the business and make it economically stable. She tries to stock brand-name items that are well-known in the market and in much demand. Her attention to detail pays off and has helped increase sales. Her goal is to expand the store and sell more products. This is her third loan through MFP and, during this time, she has been able to improve the store. She has fond memories of when she received the invitation to join the communal bank with which she has a solid relationship. She plans to use this loan to buy wholesale products, sodas and beer.
