A loan of $3,050 helped a member to buy vegetables and palm oil.

Kambeng Group's story

This solidarity group was created on July 25, 2003. The 15 women who make up this group work in market gardening, sell palm oil, or buy and sell various small items.

Madame Sounkar, who is on the left in the photo raising her hand, is the leader of the group. She is 49, married, and the mother of two children for whom she is responsible.

She buys and sells vegetables and palm oil on a small scale. She has been doing this work for several years. This loan will permit her to bolster her working capital and better develop her business.

The profit will allow her to help her husband with the daily expenditures (food, health-related expenses, and school fees).
