Benkadi Iv Group's story

BENKADI IV group is made up of married women from the village of NIAZEKAN from the sub-prefecture of KIMPARANA, which comes under the prefecture of SAN, SÉGOU region, fourth administrative district of the Republic of Mali. They live in traditional extended families. They are on average 44 years old and have at least 9 children. They essentially grow peanuts.

Wishing to make their farming ventures profitable, the members of the group Benkadi IV decided to join the loan program of Soro Yiriwaso four years ago. After having correctly reimbursed their preceding loans, they are on their fourth rural (seasonal) loan.

NIANCHO's new loan will be used to buy a sufficient quantity of peanut seeds, small equipment, and entrants to make her peanut crop more profitable. The supplies are bought at the big open-air market of KIMPARANA. After the rainy season, the harvest is stockpiled for a certain time to become valuable before being sold at the big market of KIMPARANA and the surrounding markets, retail (often wholesale) and for cash, to a clientele coming generally from the big towns.

After the sale of their crops, each of the members of this BENKADI IV group expects to earn a profit of 12,500 to 65,000 F CFA which will be used to reimburse the interest on the loan and for current family expenses.
