Alimatou's story

Born in 1976 in Benin, Alimatou is married to Issa, a shopkeeper. The couple has four children under their care and attending school. Three are their own children. Alimatou never attended school. To help meet her and her children’s needs, for about eight years she has been preparing food (rice, corn mush, yams, accompanied by various sauces) to sell in her neighborhood. She buys her ingredients in the market of Benin. Thanks to her income from this business, Alimatou helps to pay her family’s various expenses. With the goal of satisfying her customers and improving her quality of life and her income, Alimatou is requesting her third loan through ALIDé.
