This Kiva borrower is a 49-year-old Lebanese man living with his wife and seven children, three of whom are still attending school. He has owned a carpentry business since 1997, where he manufactures diverse wood designs. On overloaded workdays, he gets help from two employees in order to accomplish the work on time and satisfy his customer’s demands.
He has obtained his first Kiva loan and has been a very good client with punctual payments. Today, he is requesting to borrow $1200 US from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase wood needed for his newest projects. In the future, he is planning to improve his work and expand his business operation by taking on bigger projects.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
