Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $350 helped to install electricity in his rental houses.

George's story

George, a 39-year-old married father of three children in school, owns rental houses which earn him a living. In business for only two years, he employs a caretaker to collect rent and check on the houses. George works hard in his business so as to provide for the family and educate his children.

He has requested a loan of 30,000 Kenyan shillings to install electricity in his rental houses and dreams of building apartments so that he can generate more income in the future.
