Khana Naira Group's story

The village bank KHANA NAIRA is starting its second loan cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Los Andes regional office. The group has nine members, and Dora is the chair of the board of directors. The members' business are quite varied, and include retail, manufacturing, agriculture, and a filming business. Dora says she's been working with Pro Mujer for five months and that she was invited to join the organization. She currently has a business selling special-occasion videos, which she and her husband have run for 10 years. She will use this loan to purchase filming equipment on Eloy Salmón Street. She will be able to use the equipment on the weekends when she is hired to film special events. This business helps her bring in an income to support her family, since she is married and has two children. When we ask her what she likes about Pro Mujer, she answers that she likes the ability to save.

In this group: Dora, Martha Cristina, Gregoria, Aida, Anahi Belinda, Maria Magdalena, Marisol, Rosario Virginia, Delia Julia
