A loan of $750 helped to buy supplies for making flour and also sacks of fertilizer.

Judith's story

Judith is an entrepreneurial 40 year-old woman who is married to 40 year-old Marino. They have five children but only live with two of them: 9 year-old Fiorela and 3 year-old Medaly. They live in their own home, in the village of Pian.

For three years, Judith has been selling mixed veg, 'máchica' (roasted cornmeal) and seven grain (a typical flour from the Andean region of Peru which contains a lot of vitamins). Every day, she goes out to sell her products in her store which is located in the center of the village. What she most enjoys about her work is selling these products because it is very profitable. For this reason, one year ago she decided to take her products to the capital city to sell. As an ambitious woman, Judith also grows barley together with her husband who looks after the crops, helping him when she has time.

In the future, this beautiful family is thinking of increasing their capital so that they can increase their profits and thereby provide their daughters with a better life. They want to see their daughters progress and gain a university-level of education. Judith would also like to invest in making improvements to her small home.

Judith is a member of the "Sarita Colonia" community bank and this is her tenth loan from MFP, from whom she hopes to gain financial support so that she can achieve her goals. On her part, she pledges once again to make her repayments on time as she has with her previous loans. Judith enjoys being a member of her community bank because all the members are responsible people who are very supportive of each other. She will invest the money she has requested in buying supplies for making the flour that she sells. She will also buy several sacks of organic fertilizer for her barley crop.
