A loan of $1,400 helped a member to buy tools for her hardware store..

Concentidas Group's story

The “CONCENTIDAS” communal bank is beginning its fourth loan cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Los Andes regional center. It is made up of nine members and led by a board of directors, headed by Silveria. The businesses carried out by the members are varied, including trade, production and services.

Silveria indicates that she has worked with Pro Mujer for three years, but in another regional center. She joined the institution on the invitation of a promoter. Currently, she has a hardware business which she has been operating for three years. She learned the business from her husband.

The loan she is requesting now is to increase her capital (buying a variety of tools and metal items). She will buy the items wholesale from stores and will sell them at her sales point in Extranca de Rio Seco. This manner of working allows her to generate resources to support her family, since she is a single mother with three children.

When she is asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes everything, the savings and the training.
