Jimmy Omar's story

Jimmy Omar is 19 years old. He is single and lives with his mother and one brother. He has no children. He lives in the canton of Ventanas, in Los Ríos province. The members of "LA UNION" communal bank come together in the Aguas Frías de Medellín neighborhood, which belongs to the canton of Ventanas. The members of this communal bank work in agriculture, planting short-cycle crops such as corn, rice and pole beans. Jimmy has worked in agriculture for some time, planting corn. His late father taught him this profession. He buys what he needs in Ventanas, and he sells his crops at the daily markets, especially the Sunday market. He is requesting the loan to buy seeds, fertilizers and compost. With the help of the loan, he will be able to improve his economic situation so that he can cover his needs. Some of the challenges he faces are the competition and the changes in the climate. His dream is to keep working so that he can have money and help his mother and brother. He enjoys going to the city of Ventanas to visit his friends.
