Rosa's story

Rosa, 43, and her husband and children live in a house they own in the Peruvian "departamento" of Lambayeque. The house only has one electrical outlet. Most people in the area scrape by on the incomes from their farming and livestock businesses.

Rosa started a business 3 years ago selling firewood. Cooking gas is not widely used in this part of Peru, so there's a lot of demand for firewood, a fact that's contribued to Rosa's success. She's now applying to Edpyme Alternativa for a 1000 new soles loan that she will use to buy firewood and meet the demand for it from her customers. The income from the business will allow her to support her family.

Rosa is an ambitious woman and she's working hard to make sure her family gets ahead in the world.
