Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $3,800 helped a member to purchase stock of firewood and clothes.

Mukuvisi Group's story

Greetings from Zimbabwe! This is 43 year old Febi (holding the yellow file) from Masvingo. She is widowed with three children, one attending school. She also cares for four dependents.

Febi runs a retail business selling clothes and firewood at a fixed location and from door to door. The business has been in operation for 9 years. She says the main challenges she faces are competition from other suppliers. Febi has requested a loan of $400 to purchase more clothes and firewood. She says the extra income generated as a result of this loan will allow her to send her children to school and equip them with the right food and clothing. In the future Febi plans to operate a shop employing workers.
