A loan of $675 helped to purchase a motorcycle transport vehicle.

Rosa's story

Rosa belongs to the communal bank "Mujeres de la Colina II" of the district of La Banda de Shilcayo, in the Province and Department of San Martin. She is single, 43 years old, and she has three children. Two of them have families of their own and the youngest is in high school.

She started out with a business selling fruits in the regional market but she abandoned it because it was not generating much profit. She decided to purchase a motorcycle transport vehicle with the help of a capital fund of S/.500 which helped her with the initial expense. This is an urban passenger transport vehicle. She is very happy because her profits help her to repay her loan.

With this loan of S/.1800 she will finance the purchase of another motorcycle transport which will help her to improve her income from its daily rental.

Rosa is a hardworking woman and her dream is to one day have a large business renting motorcycle transports. She is very thankful to the Manuela Ramos movement (Kiva Field Partner) for helping women like herself to have opportunities to improve their income and to improve the quality of life for their families.
