A loan helped a member to purchase nets in order to increase her daily fishing yield.

Ley's Group's story

This is a group of five low-income people who have decided to seek a loan together, and each member of the group will use his or her loan for similar purposes. Mrs. Ley, age 32, was chosen to be the leader of this loan group by the other members.

Mrs. Ley and her husband earn an income through fisH.. They usually spend eight hours a day fisH. in the local river. They catch around 10 kilos of fish per day and sell these in bulk to their customers, who are retail fish vendors at the market. The couple has two children who are still enrolled in school. Mrs. Ley will use her loan to purchase nets in order to increase the daily fisH. yield for herself and her husband.

The other four people in the loan group are also fisherfolk. Mrs. Eng is requesting a loan in order to buy a new boat. The remaining three, including a couple named Mr. and Mrs. Eang, are requesting loans to purchase fisH. nets.

In this group: Ley, Eng, Eang, Eang, Prum
