A loan of $475 helped to maintain and service his moto-taxi.

Jose Miguel's story

José, 47, lives with his wife and child in the home of family members. The home does not have basic utilities and is located in the rural part of the Olmos district which belongs to the department of Lambayeque. The area's inhabitants work in agriculture and animal husbandry.

José has had his moto-taxi for three years (a type of transportation used for traveling short distances, with a maximum occupancy of three people) which he drives carrying passengers to the various hamlets in the area where he lives. With the income he earns he will be able to improve the quality of life of his family.

The loan he has requested from Edpyme Alternativa is for 1,300 nuevos soles and will be used to provide maintenance and service to his moto-taxi which is showing some signs of age. He needs to have it in good condition in order to continue working, since it is the only means by which he supports his household. José is a person who through much effort and work has been able to make his businesses grow and help his family get ahead.
