A loan of $4,650 helped a member to buy more clothes to sell.

Kisarawe Group's story

Fatuma, who is in her mid 30s, is married and has five children who go to school.

She has had a business of selling new clothes from door to door for four years now. She works from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily and is able to make a small monthly profit.

This will be Fatuma’s third loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to pay school fees and increase the clothes stock and has repaid all her loans successfully. She hopes for a loan to buy more clothes for resale. Her dream is to one day finish building her house.

Fatuma will share this loan with her loan group, “Kisarawe,” which has a total of 19 members who will hold each other accountable in paying back their loans.

In this group: Fatuma, Asia*, Amosi, Teresia, Peliema, Asha, Zaina, Mariam, Zainabu, Asha, Husna, Hafsa, Habiba, Basilia, Luiza, Juliana, Ramadhani, Hawa, Mpewa
