Benkadi 7 Group's story

The 10 members of the Benkadi 7 group are married women, on average 30 years old, and have on average 4 children. They live with their husbands and numerous children in Memissala, about 30 km from the city of Niena in the Skiasso region, the 3rd administrative region of Mali. These clients are on their fifth loan with microfinance institution Sor Yiriwaso in order to satisfy their needs in terms of production and agriculture ingredients. The previous loans were satisfactorily repaid. This group of women grows corn, rice, peanuts, okra, etc. Fanta plans to buy 1 bag of urea and 2 bags of complex grains and the rest on labor and hoeing. She envisions making on average 20,000 – 30,000 FCFA, which will be used towards her family’s daily needs. She hopes to increase her sales in order to better satisfy her clientele.
