Benkadi 3 Group's story

The eight members of the BENKADI 3 group are married women. They have an average age of 31 and on average, four children. They live in polygamous families in N’gona, a village situated about 40 km from the town of NIENA, Sikasso region, third administrative region of Mali.

These clients are on their fifth seasonal loan with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso, aiming to satisfy their average production and agricultural entrants needs. Their prior loans have been satisfactorily reimbursed.

This group of women grow maize, rice, peanuts, okra, sugar peas, sesame seed, etc.

MINATA intends to use her loan to buy one sack of urea (fertilizer), two sacks of cereal-complex, and use the rest of the loan for plowing and weeding costs. She expects to make an average profit of 10,000 F CFA which will be used for everyday expenses of her family.
