Clara

A loan of $925 helped to buy balanced feed for her animals and fertilizers for her farm land.

Clara's story

Clara is a 54 year-old mother who lives with her husband and two children. She lives in her own home, which has water and electricity, in Mórrope district, in Lambayeque department. This area is noted for the fact that many people farm, raise livestock and make handicrafts.

Clara has been raising sheep for several years and her sheep pen is located behind her home. She fattens her animals with balanced feed and natural pasture and, when they have achieved an optimum size and weight, she sells them in the market in her area. With the money that she makes for her sheep, she is able to take care of her family's daily needs. Her husband is a farmer who farms his own land.

Clara has requested a loan for 2,500 Peruvian soles from Edpyme Alternativa to buy balanced feed for her animals and fertilizers for her farm land. She will use the income that she makes from both businesses to repay her loan and improve her family's quality of life. Clara is known in her area for being a hard-working, responsible woman and she would like to improve her family's quality of life, especially that of her children.
