A loan of $825 helped to buy seeds and fertilizers to improve his land and crops.

Santiago's story

Santiago is 36 years old, single, and lives in a house belonging to some family members. The house is located in Illimo district, some minutes from Lambayeque department. The people in this area work in farming and livestock raising.

Santiago has been farming for some years. He owns his own farm land where he grows corn. This is a good, healthy food that the local people eat every day. When he harvests his corn, he sells it both wholesale and retail in Moshoqueque market, in Chiclayo, with the aim of increasing his income and covering his personal expenses.

Santiago has requested a loan for 2,200 Peruvian soles from Edpyme Alternativa to buy yellow corn seeds and also fertilizers to prepare and improve his land and crops. He will later sell these crops for people to eat. The sale of his corn will improve Santiago's quality of life and that of the people he lives with. He is a hard-working and responsible person who has a great desire to get ahead in life through his work and efforts.
