Marcial Leopoldo's story

Marcial Leopoldo is 52 years old and lives with his common-law wife. They have 6 children aged 24, 22, 20, 18, 11 and 8, and live in San Pablo parish, in San MIguel canton.

The "Unión y Esperanza" (Unity and Hope) community bank is located in San Pablo parish, 30 minutes from our San Miguel office. The members of this group are farmers who grow corn and potatoes. They also sell vegetables and other products.

Marcial is a farmer who grows corn in small quantities and also potatoes. He has been in this line of work for a long time. He makes his purchases in San Miguel and sells his products in the markets in San Pablo and San Miguel.

Marcial is requesting this loan to buy corn seeds and potatoes. This loan will help him to increase his income and production. He faces challenges in his work such as a lack of workers and changes in the weather which sometimes damage his crops. His dream is to build a house and buy land so that he can continue working.

Marcial enjoys celebrating carnival festivities and going out with his family.
