A loan of $375 helped to buy merchandise like jackets, for example.

Roxana's story

We met Roxana at the communal bank meeting. She is a member of the María Auxiliadora Communal Bank with the Arariwa Association. They meet every month with their colleagues at one of the member's houses in the San Jerónimo district in the city of Cusco. Roxana was born in Cusco (Perú). She is 37 years old, and she lives in the same zone where she was born. She is happy because she is getting her two children ahead, and they are going to school. (Cusco is known for having beautiful scenery and for being a tourist and merchant zone).

Roxana tells us that she sells clothes and fruit. She travels to the city of Arequipa to buy merchandise. Sometimes her sister, who is from this city, sends her the clothes. She has been in this business for several years. It has gone very well for her, thanks to the effort that she puts into her work.

At this time she needs the loan to buy more merchandise like, for example, jackets because there is a demand for them during this time of year. It is very cold in the city of Cusco in the months of May, June, July, and August.
