A loan of $825 helped to buy women's pants and clothing of all kinds.

Angelica Maria's story

In San Ignacio in the parish Colon in the city of Portoviejo, the members of the Communal Bank "San Ignacio De Colon" meet every fortnight. The place is known for its hard-working people dedicated to agriculture and livestock.

Here we met Angelica, who is 28 years old and maintains a common law relationship with which she has three boys, ages 12, 11 and 3 years old. The oldest is in middle school and the other one is in elementary school. Her spouse is an auto mechanic.

Angelica is a homemaker who sells clothing by catalog for her own income. Her method is selling door to door. She works weekends, and she has to care for her young son and nephew, for which her sister pays her a salary. On weekends she visits her clients in order to sell or collect payment for the goods delivered. She says she has many customers who place their orders because it gives them easy terms. Angelica has been in this business for 2 years and is doing very well.

The requested loan is to buy women's pants and clothing of all kinds. This is her third cycle in the communal bank and she likes it because her partners are very responsible. Her dream is to have a distributor.
