A loan of $750 helped to buy traps and mesh to keep insects from damaging his plants.

Florian's story

Florián, 38, is from the city of Quimbiri. He is a cheerful, hard working man with a strong desire to succeed in life. He lives in his own house with his wife, Karina, 29, and their four beloved children for whom he wants to provide a better quality of life.

Florián is a young man who is focused on his responsibilities and who works very diligently to get ahead. He plants cocoa beans, coffee, achiote and palillo (turmeric) which, once harvested, he takes to the crop gathering centers in the city of Quimbiri and San Francisco to sell. He has several buyers there who, aware of the high quality of his products, don’t hesitate to wait for him to buy his entire harvest. What he enjoys the most about his work is planting the land and making it fertile and productive. He’s been in this line of work for 12 years and considers the most difficult part of it protecting his plants from insect infestations. Because of this, he wants a small loan to buy insect traps.

This is his 8th loan with MFP. He knows that this contribution will be very beneficial for his work’s development. He thanks all the members of his communal bank for electing him to the board of directors.

He will use the requested loan to buy traps, mesh and burners to combat the insect infestations that threaten his crops.
