Rosa's story

Rosa is a member of the May 3rd Community Bank located in the Llave district, El Collao Province, department of Puno. She is a 76-year old widow with four grown children. She studied, but did not complete primary school.

She has worked with the Manuela Ramos Movement for more than five years. Her first loan was for 300 new soles, which she used to invest in her snack food business. With this new loan of 2,000 new soles, she will buy merchandise such as noodles, rice, sugar, flour, oil, milk, detergents and other goods. She sells her products at different fairs and markets in the communities of Llave. She even works on Sundays. Her granddaughter helps her with her business.

Her dream is to continue with her business and to earn more profit. The thing she likes most about the Community Bank is the savings.
