A loan of $1,100 helped to buy cookies, candies, chocolates and also supplies for making food.

Gloria Concepción's story

Gloria is a member of the "3 de Mayo" community bank which is located in Ilave district, in El Collao province, in Puno department. She is 29 years old, lives with her partner, and has two children. She has a high school level of education.

Gloria tells us that she has a café in a very well-known high school in her town. Her previous loan was for 300 Peruvian soles and she invested all of that money in her business.

Gloria is requesting a new loan for 3,000 soles to invest in buying cookies, candies, chocolates, etc. She will also buy products such as rice, sugar, potatoes, meat, chicken, etc. to prepare the food that she will then sell in her café. She works in her business with an assistant since her husband is a musician and travels to different parts of the city.

Gloria's dream is to own a restaurant and an Internet café. What she most likes about her community bank is the ease of the loans and what she earns on the internal account.
