Diappo Liggey Group's story

The Diappo Liggey solidarity group was set up on 12th May 2010. It is made up of 13 women who live in the same neighborhood and who are mainly active in animal fattening and small trading businesses.

Aminata, who is in charge of the group, is 26 years old; she is married and mother to three children. She is standing on the right of the photo wearing a mauve "boubou" (a West African flowing dress), covered by a white shawl.

She has a small trading activity selling various goods such as fabric, shoes and food products etc. She has more than ten years' experience. She also has a sheep fattening activity.

Her loan will enable her to buy goods and sheep in order to strengthen her sales capacity.

She wants to work a lot in order to become financially independent. She helps her husband with the daily household expenses.
