Luis Fernando's story

Luis Fernando is 33 years old and the owner of the “Tres Ave Marias” store located in the neighborhood that has the same name. His wife and three children live there. The children are from 2 to 13 years old. Luis Fernando is from a rural area, specifically from OIBA in the Satandar Department. Seven years ago he moved to Baranquilla City with his family. In order to generate income he rented a store and with his savings he was able to buy the location. He has a customer base that buys on credit. The real estate in this area has appreciated. His future goals are to convert his store into a fast food market and buy the location of the store. His major challenge is the competition. There are many stores in the area. He struggles to be the best business and with his good service he has maintained his customer base. While Luis Fernando supports his dreams, he continues working with a profit margin of 18 percent. He plans to continue growing his business, and, beginning with this loan from the Mario Santo Domingo Foundation, he will buy food supplies in order to provide a wider assortment of goods and increase his sales.
