A loan of $550 helped to buy construction materials (cement, beams, stone, zinc sheets, etc.).

Lasticia Alfredo's story

Lasticia Alfredo was born in Namaacha District, Maputo Province in southern Mozambique. She is single and has two children who are 2 and 8 years old. Lasticia finished 10 grade plus 2 years of teacher training. She lives in her own house with her family and supports her mother by sending her money. Lasticia left Namaacha to move to Boane on work assignment. She has worked as a teacher for more than six years and is on the staff of the Ministry of Education. She has no employees and has a salary of 6,500 meticais per month, which she uses for household expenses. She is also able to save some money in her bank account at the end of each month. She has never had loans from other banks, and learned about Hluvuku through coworkers who are also customers of this institution. This is Lasticia's third loan with Hluvuku. She is asking for 16,000 meticais to buy construction materials (cement, beams, stone, zinc sheets and other items) to continue construction on her house. The previous loans were for 10,000 meticais each, and both were for housing. She promises to make her payments promptly so she can get other loans in the future. She intends to ask for more loans in order to buy a car.
