A loan of $750 helped to buy construction materials (zinc sheets, cement, sand, stone, etc.).

Hilario Lucas's story

Hilario Lucas was born in Boane District, Maputo Province in southern Mozambique. He is single and has a five-year-old son. Hilario finished 12th grade but did not continue with school because he did not have the money to attend college. He lives in his own house and supports his parents and his nephew, who live with him. Hilario has never left Boane; he went to school and began his professional career in this District. He has worked as a permanent employee for more than five years and has salary of 7,997.00 meticais per month, which he uses for household expenses. He is also able to save some money in his bank account. He has never had loans from other banks, and he learned about Hluvuku through a coworker who is a customer of this institution. This is Hilario's second loan with Hluvuku. He is asking for 22,000 meticais to buy construction material (zinc sheets, cement, sand, stone, etc.) to continue improving his house. The earlier loan was for 15,000 meticais and was for housing. Hilario promises to make his payments on time so he can take out other loans in the future. He intends to ask for new loans so he can finish his house, furnish it and start his own business.
