A loan of $2,325 helped a member to purchase pork.

Siempre Adelante Group's story

The community organization "Siempre Adelante" [Always Forward] will begin its first loan cycle in Pro Mujer [Pro Woman] as part of the Los Andes regional office. It is composed of eight members and directed by a board headed up by Señora Virginia. The members' businesses are varied and include among them: commerce, production and services. Señora Virginia joined Pro Mujer eighteen loan cycles ago at another regional office, changing on this occasion to Los Andes on account of a household move. Currently she has a business selling pork which she has had for fifteen years and which she learned from her mom. This time she is taking out a loan to increase her quantity of merchandise (purchase of pork) which she sells every day on 5th Street in the "12 de octubre" area. This type of work allows her to generate resources to support her family, since she is married and has three children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes health.
