Wendy Pola's story

Wendy, a young lady who is 23 years old, is the owner of the Quik variety store, in the Santa Maria neighborhood of the city of Barranquilla, where she lives with her husband, In 2009 she decided to open her own business after having worked and gained several years of experience as a store saleslady. Wendy is from San Onofre in the department of Sucre, but moved to Barranquilla with her parents when she was two years old. They provided her with well-being, an education and a pro-active attitude regarding work.

She studies liberal arts, Spanish and foreign languages at the university, while also holding a job. She sells ladies' and men's clothing, as well as different accessories, on a credit or cash basis, whichever is most convenient for her customers who live mainly in her neighborhood. This is her first loan and it will be used to buy men's clothing, colognes, scarves and various accessories. This is in preparation for the high demand that will come with the celebration of Father's Day, usually a very busy time when normal sales increase. Her dream is to have several sales points and finish her education to try and become a national policewoman. She will work hard to make it happen.
