Juan Francisco's story

Juan is originally from the department of Leon. He is 46 years old, married, and he is the father of a family. He has 5 children although he supports 3 because the others are grown and they live independently. Juan is a furniture and automotive upholsterer. He started this business when he was 18 years old and when he married his first wife he inherited the business from his father-in-law. He became a widow when he was 23 and that is when he moved his business to his own space to work upholstering furniture. He went to the United States to work for a furniture company. That experience lasted 4 years and later he came back to his city of origin to work and to put into practice the skills he acquired.

He requested a loan to purchase materials to work with, such as leather, damask fabric, rolls, threads, staples, carpeting, upholstering foam (liners) for furniture and vehicles. This loan will help him to develop his business and to have more products to offer. He will be able to purchase more materials for his business to increase production. In the future he wants to start a furniture store. He would like to expand into a western region and to start up a small store in Chinandega.
