María Laura's story

Maria is a member of the communal bank Santa Ana. She lives in the community of Santa Ana. It is a cold climate district and it has a beautiful view of the city of Cuenca and the natural surroundings. The population is made up of livestock farmers and agriculturists. Many work in the city in various business activities.

She is 59 years old, married, and she has 3 children, two of whom are grown, married, and independent. Her youngest child is single and works to cover his expenses. Her husband works as a security guard. With their combined work they have managed to build a house of their own.

She takes care of the household obligations and she takes advantage of her time to raise livestock, such as: poultry, pigs, and cows. Her livestock are sold in her own community.

She is a founding member of the communal bank and she enjoys having many good friends in the bank. The funds from her loan will be invested in the purchase of cattle.

Her goal is to have more livestock to raise.
