Canal De Bendicion 6 & 8 Group's story

Eliana is the coordinator of her group Canal de Bendicion 6 & 8 (Channel of Blessing). Her group is located in the rural areas surrounding La Romana, where the economy is dominated by the sugarcane harvest. She makes her home here in a simple structure with her two children, taking care of them as a single mom.

Eliana is excited to be taking her fifth loan with Esperanza after having successfully repaid her previous loan and expanding her business. She plans to use this loan to invest in her business selling fried food, by buying chicken, beef, flour, oil, and plantains. She operates a fried food stand where she cooks dinners for sale. She is saving her profits to improve her home by building her future house out of concrete block, which will provide more security.

She enjoys being part of her group and sharing with them in different activities. Also her favorite thing to do is spend time with her two children.
