Don De Dieu Plus Group's story

“Don de Dieu Plus” is a group of 11 smallbusiness owners chaired by Colette. Its members are jointly liable for loans granted by Kiva to grow their businesses.

Colette is 51 years old. She is a widow and is the mother of four children between 14 and 32 years old. All of them go to school. Colette has a soft drinks business which she started in 2001. Her business brings in US$20 per week. Colette is a hardworking woman who has demonstrated some abilities in business such as organization and good management. She is a loyal client of IMF HOPE RDC and has previously received eight different loans which she has correctly repaid.

Colette is requesting a new loan to help her increase the inventory of her goods in order to meet the high demand for soft drinks in her community. She is confident in her business. She knows how to attract her customers by offering what they need and like. She is also diplomatic when she talks to her clients. Colette’s medium-term plan is to open a soft drinks facility in her area.
