A loan of $375 helped to purchase beer, sodas, and mineral water.

Maria Ida's story

María is a 58-year-old mother who has her own home which receives all basic services. She lives with her husband and children. Her house is located in the District of Chepén, which is located an hour away from Chiclayo Province and two hours away from the Department of La Libertad. This community is in a rural area where most of the residents have developed businesses in the agriculture, livestock, and tourism sectors.

María has a store in her home where she sells beer, sodas, and mineral water. Whenever her neighbors have some type of important event, they come to her to find the products they need. She is well-known in her district. Her business is the only source of income that she has to improve her family’s standard of living.

Upon a visit to Edpyme Alternativa, María requested a loan of 1000 PEN so that she could restock her store with more beer, sodas, and mineral water in order to satisfy her customers and increase her household income. María is recognized among her neighbors for being a cheerful woman and a responsible mother. Her goal for her family is to move forward through effort and work.
